About Us

Friends of Cypress Provincial Park Society (FCPP) was founded in 1990 and became a registered charity (#1046804-52) in 1995. Membership fees are $10.00 a year per household.

The Society's purposes are:

a.To promote preservation of the natural environment and special natural features of Cypress Provincial Park for their intrinsic value and for the inspiration and enjoyment of present and future generations as a public trust;

b.To promote preservation of the park's special historical and cultural features;

c.To foster, through education, an understanding and appreciation of the park's natural features;

d.To do all things as are incidental and ancillary to the attainment of the above purposes.

The Society has been actively involved for almost 20 years in the master planning process for Cypress Provincial Park to ensure that the Park and Ski Area plans will protect the park's natural environment to the greatest degree possible, will provide a fair balance among forms of recreation appropriate to the park and allow year-round free public access to and within the park. Society members also participate in park enhancement projects, including maintaining trails, guiding hikes and producing informational material about the park.
